Elementary school in saint-nazaire (44) / competition 2017

Through this symbolic operation carried out jointly with the inhabitants of the Petit Caporal district in Saint-Nazaire, the project proposes a new equipment gathering, within a same building, the extracurricular accommodation, the multi-purpose room, the multi-reception and the proximity pole, a driving force on the neighborhood scale and a new popular and attractive centrality for residents.

It is for us to propose to the residence inhabitants but also to those of the suburban complex situated to the north of the school, a central place that is more than a simple mineral esplanade of waiting occupied punctually. We propose to create a play and walk place in the middle of vegetal areas and turned to the school entrance clearly identified thanks to the external signage and the multipurpose room that opens largely on the forecourt.

Based on the Saint-Nazaire observed farmland, we propose to rework and extend the schoolyards existing green spaces in the manner of vegetated islets that unify the entire site and give an identity to each space.
