PRESSOIR Square in Maurecourt (78) / Project delivered in June 2017
Originally designed in petanque court, the Pressoir plot in Maurecourt metamorphoses into a real place of conviviality and greenery. We want to bring new uses to this place by creating kids play areas and concrete benches in the shade of trees to read and relax.
By rethinking space in its entirety, we have restored a balance between the mineral and the plant by setting up an alternation of shrubs, lawns and meadows while optimizing the residents parking to form a green setting at the heart of this urban area. The space is woven through an unstructured garden and the materials used invite children to play safely.
The mineral is dominant and leaves little room for plants. With no shadow space and open directly to the cars traffic, the Pressoir square is not used by families of residents.
Vegetation surrounds the square and masks the parking to form a space of nature. The space is woven through a unstructured garden with games to invite children to play safely.
