europlaza TOWER Paris-la defense
To optimize the unique outdoor spaces of nearly 4,000 sq. meter in Paris-La Défense, the Agency Christophe Gautrand & Associates reverses the status of these largely under-utilized places. The image of the exterior space with urban and anonymous connotations and without uses makes way for a recomposed space in the manner of a park.
This place is transformed into a place of conviviality, relaxation and organized nature which is arranged for tenants’ and visitors’ comfort.
Outdoor meeting room
A large garden is created with the layout of outdoor meeting rooms as raised platforms in clear concrete. These lounges are connected to each other by “Japanese steps”, paths made of concrete and inserted in the grass.
Large flowering meadows punctuated with perennial beds welcome oaks, beeches and other forest species, visually pushing the park boundaries.
THE ENTRANCE FORECOURT
Yews of different heights and cut into "totems" frame the tower entrance and create a masterful graphic combination. They structure reception areas and become unifying elements of plant composition. This forecourt also hosts white concrete cube bases illuminated on the underside. The new identity of this place is easily recognizable from the street.
The two patios of the tower are also remodeled to complement the garden spaces. A proliferation of vegetation borders large wooden terraces and offers intimate and friendly places to the office and cafeteria users.
