HOtel MANDARIN ORIENTAL PARIS / AROMATIC Garden of chef thierry marx
Perched on the roof of the Mandarin Oriental Paris a new concept of aromatic herb garden was designed for the star chef Thierry Marx by the Agency Christophe Gautrand & Associates. This garden shows nature in the city and guarantees a quality and remarkable freshness of the products in the hotel restaurant.
This table is divided into three parts. The first shows a collection of aromatic plants in pots that can be carried to the tables of restaurant's customers. The second part consists of a planter where aromatic plants, edible flowers and some vegetables come together. Finally, the last part is a counter allowing the star chef Thierry Marx to prepare, as the seasons go by, herbal infusions or new aromatic associations.
Unusual plants such as the Immortelle flower that gives a curry flavor to a dish or the Persicaria Odorata, a creeping Indochina plant with a coriander and a lemongrass scent, are available to consumers.
Fresh Mint Collection
A collection of more than ten fresh mints (anise mint, strawberry mint, pineapple mint, lemon mint, orange mint etc.) is used to make infusions, teas and cocktails.
Edible flowers such as nasturtium, monarda (bright red), thyme and zucchini flowers are staged. They are cut by the care of the chef Thierry Marx and delicately dropped on customers’ plates.
