white garden in Neuilly-sur-Seine (92)
Landlocked, this garden is an oasis in a timeless place, insensitive to the perpetual agitation of the city. This garden is a composition, a setting, a landscape that should simply be contemplated to free oneself from everyday life. The light is carried to the heart of the garden by a water mirror reflecting the sky and the big birches.
The Zen Garden created by the Agency Christophe Gautrand & Associates is a symbolic place where every detail has a spiritual meaning: the white gravel suggests water, the rock an island or a mountain, the maple tree the color and the water mirror purity. In this allegorical place, we appreciate the perfect balance between the vegetal and the mineral.
The dry garden, more commonly known as "Zen Garden", made its appearance in Japan from the 16th century. It is composed of white gravel and rocks that encourage the viewer to contemplate and meditate.
A plant with multiple symbolic (prosperity, joy, fertility, etc.), bamboo forms a vegetal screen and a space conducive to meditation. It evokes a constantly evolving nature, symbolizing its status over human activity.
